Why do you believe the Federal Government is imposing this mining tax?
This is a tax grab by the Federal Government that wants to tax profits on Australia’s non-renewable resources / the Mining industry because they’ve seen an opportunity to tax a highly productive and profitable sector of the economy. The Federal Government have very few areas left where they can introduce a new tax.
Do you think it’s fair that a new tax be imposed at such a high tax rate?
The tax rate of 40 per cent is totally ridiculous and will make the Australian mining sector one of the highest tax rates in the world. The Federal Government expects to make about $12 billion in the four years after the tax is introduced – that is akin to highway robbery.
